Global Warming
Global warming has been a debatable conflict for many years now. I think humans are the main cause for climate change because before we were on earth, there was better air quality and many natural resources were not being taken up from the ground and being put in the air. The main cause for global warming is the burning of fossil fuels. It has been proven by scientists that humans are the source for global warming. Scientists say “The global average atmospheric carbon dioxide in 2018 was
407.4 parts per million” and it has now increased to the point where our oceans are rising thousands of feet and glaciers are melting.
One cause for global warming is the burning of fossil fuels. Everyday humans are working and doing their jobs but nobody realizes that by us working, we're tearing the earth's surface apart. By burning fossil fuels, we are putting way too much Carbon Dioxide in the air which is causing everything on earth's surface to heat up too. Carbon dioxide levels are the highest they've ever been and if we don't put a stop to it, our planet will run out of products like oil and gasoline that we use in our daily lives.
Another cause of global warming is the usage of gasoline. Gasoline is a toxic and highly flammable liquid. Some toxic chemicals that are put into the air when we use gasoline are carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, and unburned hydrocarbons which contribute to air pollution. Burning gasoline also produces carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas. These toxic chemicals are hurting the plant and animals life on land and in water. People don't realize that everyday billions of people are using their cars to drive to work. Every year we put around 40 billion tons of CO2 into the air.
Which means we put about 109,589,041.0958 million tons of CO2 everyday!
By putting all of these chemicals into the air we are destroying our planet and most people don't realize how little things like driving your car to work are killing animals and destroying forests. Recently, many countries including the United states have experienced forest fires. Especially the amazon. Right now because of global warming and global warming, some parts of the United States have become so hot that the wind alone has started massive fires. In the Amazon which is where we get 20% of our oxygen, a large forest fire was started due to deforestation and global warming. At one
point a satellite showed around 9507 fires burning.
Global warming is a very real thing and it's growing rapidly. By putting toxic chemicals in our air, we are heating up earth's surface. If we don’t change something or start somewhere our world could produce less and less oxygen every year. Everytime you use your car, ask yourself is it really worth it? Try riding a bike or going for a walk. But understand the severity of global warming and how it can and will affect your daily life if we don’t start protecting our earth.
